Chiropractors are regulated health care professionals that specialize in treating neuromusculoskeletal disorders. They are recognized as doctors by the Government of Ontario. Chiropractors use the best available evidence and clinical expertise to diagnose issues that affect your body’s movement. They treat without medication or surgery and help prevent those issues from returning. Chiropractic care can also promote health and improve your quality of life, as well as alleviate pain. Chiropractors have a variety of tools available to treat patients, including manipulation, exercises, education, acupuncture, low-level laser therapy and more.

Dr. Jocelyn Cox grew up in Tottenham, Ontario. She was heavily involved in sports at Banting Memorial before going to Brock University to study Physical Education and wrestle on the varsity team. She made the National Wrestling team in 2006, however, when an injury derailed her career, she turned to chiropractic to help people recover from physical injury. After receiving her Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Cox completed a specialization in Clinical Sciences and is now a Fellow of the College of Chiropractic Sciences. She is currently an assistant professor at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto where she supervises clinical interns and teaches diagnosis labs. She is also a peer-reviewer for academic journals and a contributor to the Canadian Chiropractic Guidelines Initiative.

In addition to her academic accomplishments, Dr. Cox has a wealth of experience including work at St. Michael’s Hospital on the Family Health Team, at Mt. Sinai Hospital with rheumatologists, and shadowing spine and extremity surgeons in Toronto and Hamilton. Dr. Cox has been published on many topics, such as acupuncture, neck pain in children, shoulder and low back pain in dental hygienists, emergency care interventions and bone tenderness. Dr. Cox uses an evidence-informed approach to manage your muscle, nerve, and joint pains for patients of all shapes, sizes and ages.

When she is not in practice, Dr. Cox likes spending time with her family and dog Abby. She is an avid hiker, a recreational cyclist and runner. She is thrilled to be back in the area and able to provide care to the community.
